Well I hope everyone is feeling suitable festive by now. I'm going to Cambodia over Christmas and new year, leaving in just over a week! There is no Christmas in Cambodia and definitely no snow, so I think I'm subconsciously trying to soak up all the seasonal cheer before I go and swap my snow boots for sandals.
Here's a somewhat festive image I did last night, a lovely wintery vixen.
Gift givers, don't forget that the last date I'll be posting out orders for UK delivery by Christmas is Monday 20th. Do pop over to my store to grab some last minute stocking stuffers or a gocco Christmas card!

We've had a nice dumping of snow here in London overnight and today. A little earlier than usual but quite welcome!
In other news I've been working on a few new things that have recently gone up in the shop. A new brooch, a blue haired version of my beardy quiff man and a necklace with some pencils, a cute little gift for any stationary enthusiast! I even drew each backing card as a little piece of loose leaf paper (complete with punches), by hand!
Don't forget that Christmas posting dates are closing in fast! The following are the last dates for guaranteed Christmas posting dates:
Asia, Australia, NZ, Africa & S. America- December 6th
USA & Eastern Europe- December 10th
Western Europe- December 13th
UK- December 18th

Here's a new image I've been working on. It started out as a pencil sketch, I originally intended to use the pencil lines as part of the final image and add colour in photoshop. But as I was working in photoshop I would turn the pencil layer off to check my colouring and I found myself liking it more without it! I always have a hard time settling on colours (which is what makes me a horrendously slow web designer) and I still don't think I've decided with this. I might end up making a four postcard set. I haven't decided yet!

Last night I did a bit of impromptu print making. Well sort of. I'd seen a tutorial for making stamps out of erasers online ages ago but had never go around to doing it. I used a soft plastic eraser and a scalpel. It was way easier than I thought, the scalpel cut through the rubber like a hot knife through butter!

Well as I mentioned yesterday, I did some goccoing on the weekend. I've put my new 'Tea?' print up on Etsy. It's a limited edition of 25 and each one is numbered. Check it out, I think it would make a nice house warming gift. I'm gonna hang mine in our kitchen.

I did some printing on my Gocco on the weekend. It was the first time I've attempted a two screen print so I was pretty nervous. I find it hard not to be nervous when those bulbs crack, all I can think of is how much each crack costs so I really don't want to mess it up! But I did. For the first time, I forgot to put a piece of card under the original, so the screen ended up burning my original with the grid pattern from the foam pad underneath. I though it might be alright if it created some kind of nice texture, so I inked it up to test and as I suspected, it looked pants! So I threw that one away and burnt another, this one worked out much better. The only problem with it is that the design was a little close to the edge of the screen, which meant it didn't burn out properly. That actually turned out to be fine because the part that didn't burn out so well ended up being mostly covered in black on the other screen. Lucky!
The print is inspired by my love of tea and inability to stop buying odd mugs! I wanted a nice food/drink themed print to put in our kitchen, so I made one myself! I'm really happy with how the prints came out so I'll be putting them up on my etsy store in the next day or so. Stay tuned.

Here's is what I'm sure will be an embarrassingly sporadic segment, Wallpaper Wednesday!
This chap is currently the wallpaper on my iPhone so I thought I'd share him with you, he neatly sits between the time and 'slide to unlock' bar. Who doesn't like free stuff eh?
He's also available in greeting card form on my store!
I love markets. Sometimes. One market I kind of hate a little bit is Spitalfields. Not the artist bit over by Brick Lane, but the tourist trap bit closer to Liverpool Street. I'm sure they have differentiating names, but I don't know what they are. Anyway, the epitome of what I hate about markets can be found there - a stall selling PHOTOS of Banksy pieces. Blerg. Unscrupulous and unoriginal. Having said all that, I did find a great book there at a second hand book stall, when I was passing on my way to the Play exhibition last week.
It's Nessie The Mannerless Monster illustrated by Gerald Rose from 1965. It features some really great U illustrations of Edinburgh and London. My favourite page is the little boy telling Nessie to get lost! This is by far my favourite style of illustration.

There's a great exhibition on at the moment at the East Gallery in Brick lane. It's called Play and is run by Inky Goodness and Ammo Magazine. It's on until 12th Sept so check it out while you can and make sure to pick up a copy of issue 4 of Ammo while you're there!
Here are a few of my highlights..
